John Prine's widow on losing her husband to the coronavirus and tribute ...

Save Our Seeds

Mary Oliver quote....

"Poets must read and study, but also they must learn to tilt and whisper, shout, or dance, each in his or her own way, or we might just as well copy the old books. But, no, that would never do, for always the new self swimming around in the old world feels itself uniquely verbal. And that is just the point: how the world, moist and bountiful, calls to each of us to make a new and serious response. That's the big question, the one the world throws at you every morning. 'Here you are, alive. "

"If you have time to chatter

Read books

If you have time to read

Walk into mountain, desert and ocean

If you have time to walk

Sing Songs and dance

If you have time to dance

Sit quietly, you Happy Lucky Idiot."

"Celebrate the Rain" Alice Di Micele

It finally rained last night.
Strong, hard rain like all of the water was coming down from the sky all at once.
I was certain the rain was going to wash our little "singlewide-with-an-addition"
right down the Withlacoochee River into the Gulf.
In drier times, I have always liked simulating the rain....
like it would be in one of those pop-up showers that occur
(usually) daily in the summers here in this part of "La Florida".
I took this picture the last day of June...I love making homemade rainbows....via homemade rain.
Thanks again Alice DiMicele for this  song that will 4ever be in my brain:
