A Guadalupe for my Mom and Uncle Jimmy
On the way back from the V.A. in Gainesville yesterday we drove back through Ocala for a change of scenery from our usual route. I caught this pink building out of the corner of my eye and was immediately compelled to turn around and go back to see it. It turned out to be a Virgin of the Guadalupe Catholic Center. My Mom would have loved this place as well as my Dad's brother Uncle Jimmy who also loved Guadalupe. We also lost Uncle Jimmy last year, nearly one year ago next week.
I have always loved Guadalupe who I call "the Goddess of the Americas" since living in Austin, texas in the 80's. I am so very glad that I turned around. It was a beautiful spot.
I have been taking my Dad to the V.A. in Gainesville quite a bit so I have started looking for local attractions while he is in his appointment . I have been with my puppy Mollie so I havent been able to go in anywhere yet but here are a few pics from outside the Natural History Museum and art Museum at the U of Florida. I can't wait to go in at some point.
